Snow, Adam Adamant, and glaring

It's snowing here. Thick and fast, with gigantic flakes. How is it snowing, sky?! It's April the something. It looks very nice, but my mother asked me to sort out the guttering today, and there's no way I'm going up a ladder right now. (It's getting thicker all the time. It's practically a blizzard now. Is this what you have to expect when you get warm sunshine through December?) Still, I'm feeling reasonably accomplished despite the lack of guttering, as I finally got the Adam Adamant Lives! thing posted that I was supposed to do for [personal profile] fandom_stocking back in January. Actually, that's not "accomplished" really, is it. More "What the bloody hell were you playing at all year?!". Still, it's done. (There is now a diagonal wall of white outside the window. I may have vanished completely by lunchtime).

Still, none of this is what I actually set out to post. Internet, I am most displeased with you. You told me, in the only unified voice I have ever known the internet to have, that the new Star Wars film was good. Good, you said. And now, on the eve of its DVD release, I find myself getting massively spoiled for it, and that happens?! Seriously, internet? That happens, and you told me it was good? If anybody wants me, I shall be over in the corner for the rest of the month, rocking gently and making faint squeaking sounds. Whilst glaring at you, internet.

I think my snow is turning to rain. That might be more April, but the snow is infinitely prettier. Make your mind up, sky.

ETA: (Half past eight) Bloody hell, that is proper snow now. I may not be seen again until I can dig myself out sometime in June.

Oh I'm so sad you've been spoiled. And snowed upon. All at once. Life is cruel. Although the snooker's on, so it's a great time for snow.

I don't mind the snow. It looks nice when it's falling. It's all gone now though. As to the spoiler, I'm actually thinking maybe it's better to be forewarned.

Snow? Have you moved to the Scottish Highlands or something???

Star Wars is still good - even if THAT happens. It was a shock ... really ... even though I'd been spoiled before I watch it but really ... argh!!!

Ha! No, still down south. I don't know what happened to the weather today! It just went absolutely nuts for the morning. Back to normal again now though. All snow gone, and the sun has been shining.

10,000 words is an accomplishment! Took me flippin' ages to do my last AAL fic properly and it wasn't very long. And moar AAL fic is always welcome;)

Sorry your canon has been an arse - I'm sure it was all a dream and in the next one R2-D2 will come out of the shower.

We had snow too! Gone now; soggy. When will it be dry again?
Apr. 16th, 2016 04:27 pm (UTC)
10,000 doesn't feel like an accomplishment! I used to write that in a week. I tell myself that my words are better now for being slower. Or, the words aren't better, but they're arranged in a better order. Or something. I did manage to do the guttering too though. So that's okay.

I am glaring massively at Star Wars at the moment, but I don't want to risk spoilering anybody else, so I won't say why. If R2's coming out of the shower though, I'd appreciate him doing it quickly...

Cleaning out gutters does make it hard to type; the muck gets on the screen;p

I got Soolin out of the shower quickly, but will she ever get out of the bedroom...

They have bedrooms on B7? I suppose on Xenon base.

Sorry, stupid question. They must sleep somewhere! But after they lost Liberator we never see any of that stuff anymore. No room on Scorpio, and we never really see Xenon base except in that episode where Tarrant's-alleged-girlfriend-of-the-stupid-hair takes off her glove (cue mass hilarity).

Is B7 allowed cake-fic? Where do they get the cake? Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

In my PGP fic, they may well have them on Scorpio II! There is a bathroom on Xenon base this I do know.

Yes! I had one written for me, in fact. There's a bakery on Gauda Prime - who knew?
Apr. 19th, 2016 04:20 am (UTC)
I suppose there'd have to be a bakery there somewhere, now you come to mention it. I wonder what cakes intergalactic outlaws and cutthroats favour.

Blake probably goes for wholemeal flour and things with seeds in and Vila is "Why can't we have tiramisu?" ;p

Dayna favours a good flambé. She and Tarrant dare each other to eat them while they're still in mid-flamb. Must be difficult for Avon, always having to have things that are black.

But the people of Gauda Prime, supposedly a world of unutterable depravity. What cakes do they eat? I really should be thinking of other things right now, but nonetheless...!
Apr. 20th, 2016 11:01 am (UTC)
:-D but Avon will only eat black cakes in series 4, provided they are decorated with those little silver balls, so it turned out all right in the end, nearly;p

Sticky toffee pudding?
Apr. 20th, 2016 04:21 pm (UTC)
:D Is sticky toffee pudding properly evil?! I think rice pudding or semolina might be an option. We used to call semolina "frog spawn" at school, as we all hated it so much.
Apr. 21st, 2016 12:20 pm (UTC)
It fulfils the decadent requirements:) I can't see Servalan eating semolina, a worse punishment than being sent to the slave pits. Black forest gateau is fairly evil;p

I'm doing food for the Federation aren't I? Wake up brain!

Life really is cruel sometimes! I thought I saw sleet this morning, but mostly it settled for rain. (I live by the sea; we rarely do snow. We just see it up on the hills.)

Well done on finishing fic! \o/

It was mad. Pouring rain, then as I went out to feed the birds, I thought it was starting to look like sleet. By the time I was back in the house, it was a raging blizzard. Shame you didn't get it! I rather like watching snow fall. All gone now...
