Further lollygagging

As I said a little while ago, I like to go for long walks when I can, although it's not something that I usually bother talking about. Had a camera again this week though, so I am once again bothering you with details. I went on one of my favourite routes this time, through a sort of wood on top of a hill. It was pretty grey when I started out, but it turned into a beautiful hot day, and I wound up spending four hours tramping about (and not a person in sight all that time - seriously, it's better than sleep). Usually when I go that way I see a lot of deer, but - predictably enough, since I had a camera along - this time there was nothing! Admittedly I'd probably just have got a lot of blurry shots of them running away, but it's still annoying.

Anyway, as a result of all this, today I bring you pictures of trees.

A big tree.

And a bigger tree!

Little trees. You're enthralled, I can tell.

General undergrowth. Technically, this bit is a mountain bike trail. It's quite entertaining when a mountain biker comes sailing around a corner. When they see you in the way, their eyes go quite round. That only happens once in a blue moon, though. I don't think many people know it's there.

Giant trees! By this point there was so much tree cover that all the pictures started coming out in shades of black, until I realised I was going to have to figure out how to use the flash. Like a proper photographer, nearly. Except for the wobbly hands, and tripping over stuff.

This way for pixies and Smurfs.

Your intrepid correspondent fights off man-eating jungle plants and the occasional tiger, in order to bring you another picture, this time of a slightly different shade of green.

Civilisation beckons, sadly. But with nicely dappled lighting, which is kind of it.

A field of sheep. No, really, they're in there somewhere. Also, quite a lot of trees.

I certainly think so. :)

Thank you. And hello Tony!

I like little trees best. But bigger tree appears to have a face, and I suspect it of being an Ent. In league with the invisible sheep?

You could be right. You should certainly never trust an invisible sheep.

Tree pretty. *nods*

Ha! Thank you. :)

You have the best fairy tale trees! I was going you'll need wellies (phew for edits - instant spell check has a filthy mind) if you're going to follow the smurfs when it's raining. Mountain bike trails are specifically made for bikers to use for three days a year during the summer holidays, fact. Yeah, coming across a person ruins it doesn't it?

I'm not sure why other people are allowed, really. They should only exist on the internet. ;)

And don't point that camera at me, Harry! Actually I think he's pointing it just over my right shoulder, which makes me wonder what he's after. Police surveillance on my Dalek poster?!

This is true *nods*

I don't think using an icon with a ciggie on is helping - Harry'll confiscate it;p

Good point, I hadn't considered that. Hands off, Harry! He's smaller than you.
