So, I'm watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer (episode 1x08, "I Robot, You Jane"), and there's this scene where Moloch the demon goes rifling through the school's computer files, looking for information on Buffy. He pulls up her records, and we see a glimpse of them, and then a few seconds later we get another look.

I can't believe I've never noticed that before, given the frankly scary number of times that I've watched this episode. Slaying lets you change your birthdate at will? Useful. I'm guessing the first date is right, as she turns seventeen at some point on the show, and she would already have been there had the second date been right, but what the hell, television? How did you let that one happen? She changes from a sophomore to a senior as well, so it's not even as though it's just a typo. Or if it is, it's a heck of a one.

Sorry, I am completely wasting the internet's time with this post, I know; but in my defence, it's a quarter past four in the morning, and that's a good time to be wilfully annoying. Which is nice, probably, as it's not the sort of time when you can do a whole lot else.

I'll go away now.

I don't think you can waste the internet's time - it tends to be the other way round. ;-)

And that is odd - Sunnydale weirdness at work? (You're not the only one, btw, I just glanced in my copy of Slayer and, yep, the discrepancy was noted in there, too.)

No, I've been wasting the internet's time for years. It's a hobby. Or possibly an affliction.

I had an idea it would have been noticed before. Fans don't tend to miss a lot! I'm amazed I've never seen it before, though. Maybe because I was a lot further from the screen back in my TV watching days. Now that I only watch on the computer, I see a lot more detail.

That icon always makes me smile. :)

Aw, it's one of my oldest and favouritest icons (by kathyh, I think) - and amazing applicable in many situations, strangely. :-)

Hee, excellent!

It's quite a major mistake. I'd love to know how it happened!
