Reign Of Terror

Just saw this on Amazon: Doctor Who: Reign Of Terror.

Possibly my favouritest bit of all of Doctor Who. There was a time I thought we'd never see this released on DVD, since two of the episodes are missing - but they've now been "restored" through animation. I've seen a brief clip, and it's really impressive. I knew it was coming out some time this year, but I had no idea it was so soon. And check out that hat! The story is even more impressive than it is, which is saying something. Saw it for the first (and so far only) time back in '07, and I was really impressed by the writing. Susan is inevitably reduced to whimpering uselessness, but everybody else is great. Plus there's bonus Mr Meaker from Rentaghost in his much younger days, and a man with a very impressive nose.

I wrote about it when I was watching it last time, and having just had a quick flick through, it appears I may have become slightly obsessed with the hat. Probably perfectly reasonable. Anyway, I definitely recommend this one. It's got fun, it's got intrigue, it's got action, and a bit of swashbuckle. Also it has a hat. And Ian and Barbara, which is all you need to know.

That was a public service broadcast on behalf of the BBC. ;) And on behalf of me, because if this sells well enough, they might do the same thing with "The Crusade", which is another of my favourite bits of Who, and also has inconvenient bits missing. And is also awesome, if sadly lacking in hat.

I'll shut up now.

Also it has a hat
Which is a good enough reason for anything....

I knew it was coming but I'm glad to see I won't have much longer to wait. It's one of my faves. I shall miss the door in the recon it was like a character in itself(!). At least the Meaker one will be freed from the mantlepiece.

Oh and as a bonus see 'Arold sing:
No trilby though.

Mr Meaker, put your shirt on. Really, such behaviour!

Thanks for that. Never seen it before. It's always good to see a nice vintage clip.
