"No beginning, there's no ending..."

Something a little different this year. There's always something a little awkward, a little grim, in marking the anniversary of somebody's death; and this may be the last year that I do it. Today, however, is the twentieth anniversary of the day Freddie died, and I wasn't going to let that one go unacknowledged. So, with that in mind, beneath the cut is a party. Beginning with the band's 1997 tribute to Freddie, and ending with the song that started it all - and with a lot more in between. All of it loud. As Liza Minelli said at the tribute concert in 1992, "Thanks, Freddie. We just wanted to let you to know we were thinking about you."

For the record, though... that red jacket was a bad idea, Elton. It clashes something horrible with your hair. ;)

Stay safe.

I love that version of All The Young Dudes. Sucks why they were doing it, but I still love that they did it. I was wondering which concert to watch tonight. Might make it the tribute one! I haven't watched in a while.

I hsd a great musical lunch break with this lot!

Hello! Been a while. :)

Yes, it's a great version of the song. Always good to see Mick Ronson, too.

I guess I'm back in lurk mode again. Basically I suck at lj. I like to lurk, though. :)
