24th November, 1991/24th November, 2009

Yep, it's that time of year again.

Just to prove that it's not all about yesterday, however, also included is the latest song from Roger Taylor. Yes, I know the lyrics at the start are a little... not good... but bear with it. I don't agree with all of the issues involved, but I'm really rather taken with the song as a whole. Also, goatee or not, Roger will always be cool.

Rest in peace, Freddie
Thanks for both links.

November's become even more depressing, Edward Woodward died last Monday, November 17, and I heard yesterday (Monday November 24) that the lead singer of a local band, jackSoul, passed away from lung cancer, age 39. I think I prefer the first version of this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Gv0avyY6cI but the second version, here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR4PiGHONL4 was played a lot a few weeks after "Can't Stop" was released.

November is a very popular month to die in. It seems that you get extra points if you aim for a date between the twentieth and the twenty-fifth, too. It's quite remarkable how many famous people choose this time of year to depart for pastures anew.

I blame President Kennedy.

On a more serious note, that was sad about Edward Woodward. He'd been ill on and off for years, but he always seemed to soldier on regardless. Still, the tributes were all very warm. He was clearly held in very regard by his colleagues.
