Driving With Dinosaurs

God, I love Top Gear sometimes. Well - all the time, if we're honest, but sometimes more than other times. Like tonight. Where else in the world can I get shinyfastcars and dinosaurs? In the same place, at the same time, and in clever arty poses?!

Meet the dinosaurs, in Super TG Arty-Vision™...

T. rex!

And again!

Strangely featherless Utahraptor!

T. rex with unidentified guest tail!

Twin strangely featherless Utahraptors!

Er, yeah. That'll be Jeremy Clarkson, then.

Lesser-spotted BMW Z4.

Obligatory arty bit.

T. rex, Utahraptors and Z4 in arty smoke-vision.

The Utahraptors examine the Z4's roof-lowering mechanism...

... but seem more interested in making out.

Best car picture ever.

The Utahraptor ponders whether or not to buy the BMW.

The T. rex ponders whether or not to eat the BMW.

*more gawping*

And we are joined by an Allosaurus.

Obligatory dashboard shot.

Allosaurus vs Nissan.

The Allosaurus poses for the camera.

The Allosaurus considers eating the cameraman.

The T. rex considers eating the TV viewers.

Okay, maybe this one is the best car picture ever.

The T. rex examines the Nissan's interior.

This also could be the best car picture ever.

Stealth dinosaur.

Shinyfastcars in arty rain vision.

Last bit of car porn.

Next week on Britain's number one dinosaur show, James May races a Renault Twingo against a pack of Deinonychus, and Richard Hammond in a Land Rover plays chicken with a Triceratops.

I love that you've identified the different dinosaurs, particularly as I couldn't tell the difference between an Allosaurus and a T-rex if my life genuinely depended upon it.

That said, I fear you've missed the Greatorex Clarksonii, which I believe translates as Arrogant-Twit Spouting-Tripe.

It wouldn't. The Allosaurus dates from the Jurassic, and the T. rex from the Cretaceous, so you're unlikely to encounter both at the same time. ;)

Thank you for the clarification of Clarkson's Latin name, btw. I wasn't sure about that one. :D

All round good episode. You'll love it when you see it. :)

The dinosaurs were best, though. ;)

It was awesome, wasn't it. I love the way they shoot stuff, too. All adds to the spectacle. :)

Oh yes, it was another fabulously entertaining ep! Just when you think they've outdone themselves, THIS. :)
Jul. 27th, 2009 02:10 pm (UTC)
Yep. :)

I shall expect sharks next week. ;)
Jul. 27th, 2009 03:18 pm (UTC)
Fabulous! Loved the captions :)
Jul. 27th, 2009 03:25 pm (UTC)
Oh wow that's awesome! I would be interested in seeing this episode after my friend showed me the one where Jeremy demonstrated the use of a Ford as a Royal Marines Landing Assault craft. That made me laugh so hard! Great pics and caps!

You should really see some of the Top Gear specials. The North Pole one and the Africa one are my favourites.

"Oliver!" *giggles*
Jul. 28th, 2009 05:25 am (UTC)
Everybody should watch the Africa one, definitely. It's *gorgeous*. :) The Vietnam one, too.
Jul. 28th, 2009 05:32 am (UTC)
I've seen the one in Africa and I thought it was awesome!
Jul. 28th, 2009 05:48 am (UTC)
The Vietnam one was the one on motor-bikes which they weren't allowed to fix? And they kept buying each other outlandish gifts... and the Hamster spent the whole trip eating breakfast cereal because he hates foreign food and especially seafood? *falls over laughing*
Jul. 28th, 2009 02:35 pm (UTC)
Yes, that's the one. Also featured Hammond overbalancing whilst fixing his bike, and managing to land face first in James's crotch. :D Plus a rather affecting scene when Hammond met a war veteran on the beach.

OMG, Top Gear and dinosaurs!!! *dies*

And I do love their arty shots...

ps: they played the space shuttle one last night in australia and I'm still giggling. *g*
Jul. 28th, 2009 05:26 am (UTC)
I love that one. "James, stop giggling. They're getting really cross." :D
Jul. 28th, 2009 05:46 am (UTC)
And when they first laid eyes on the fuel cells and realised just how big this thing was going to be. *veg*

Oh, and when they watched a remote control mock-up try to fly. *cackles*
