Oh, Robert Vaughn, that's sad. I don't recall watching the show much, but maybe I missed out. It looks like glamorous nutty fun.

That describes it well! Season one is lighter on the humour, and more of an obvious "American Bond" thing, with Illya being an afterthought. Season two adds both more Illya and more humour, and is generally the most popular. Season three went too far with the humour (infamously it features Napoleon Solo dancing with a gorilla, although it also features one of my favourite episodes, 'The Concrete Overcoat Affair', in which Janet Leigh is spectacular as a villain). Then season four drifted back from the precipice somewhat.

Quality varies of course (thirty episode seasons being a standard back then!), but I highly recommend it for some terrific fun. I think you'd love season one's 'The Gazebo In The Maze Affair'. Only on DailyMotion I'm afraid, which is rubbish, but better than nowt: http://dai.ly/x3swa82

At least I'll still have silents. Mind you, I get grumpy over people who died in 1932. Just because they'd be 140 today, why can't they still be here?

You are The Who's "Pictures Of Lily"!

She's been dead since 1929
Oh how I cried that night
If only I'd been born in Lily's time
It would have been alright

Annoying, isn't it!

I remember loving The Man From UNCLE films though I never really saw the series. I'll have to watch it at some point.

I think we all saw the films, as they were on BBC2 a lot! The series has aired from time to time, but has been harder to find. I saw it in the nineties, at about two o'clock in the morning on ITV.

I recommend it. As I said above, it does vary in quality, but overall it's very enjoyable, and the cast are terrific.
