Rose #3 has flowered, so once again, have a picture. You can be forgiven for not recognising him, I guess, but world - meet Freddie Mercury. :)

I took that picture yesterday. It's definitely not dry today!

Yes. The blurb that came with it called it peach and apricot, but I haven't taken a bite.

That's a beautiful color!

Roses are edible, btw (as long as they haven't been sprayed), but they don't taste like peaches or apricots.

Hmm. I don't know that I feel much like trying it! Although edible flowers are interesting, and probably well worth experimenting with.

I've never munched them plain. I have chopped the petals up and added them to fruit salad. It doesn't really seem to change the flavor much, but it adds some nice bits of color.

Lavender, on the other hand, is quite strong.

Yes, I've heard that about lavender. I don't like the smell though, so I don't think I would try that anyway. Nasturtiums are supposed to be nice. Certainly the caterpillars think so!

Nasturtiums are spicy, sort of vaguely like radishes. They're great for color and flavor in a green salad.

That sounds really nice. I shall have to try it!
