Fun On Earth

I have the new Roger Taylor album! It doesn't get released until Monday, but they sent it out today, and there is much excitement. I have been chasing my tail around in circles all day. Well, maybe not. But still. New Roger Taylor album! There hasn't been a new one since 1998, and now there is, and it has lots of drums, and some Jeff Beck, and lots more drums, and a stylophone, and some occasional saxophone, and quite a lot more drums. Also Roger Taylor. It's got a rubbish cover, mind. I have been listening to it quite a bit. Currently loving the lyrics of I Am The Drummer (In A Rock n' Roll Band), and much enjoying the added Jeff Beck in Say It's Not True, which always was a good song. Up really appeals too. New Roger Taylor! I am probably the only person on LiveJournal who is excited about this, but whatever.

That was a good bit just then, did you hear?

PS: Hooray.

Egret isn't interested. She only likes Freddie. Already asked! But that's okay, because I have excitement enough for everybody. :)

Roger's always been my favourite. When it comes to Queen songs, I love all their stuff, but with the solo work, it's Roger's that I especially like. And he makes me laugh.

I am very excited about it, but too broke to get one myself. You have no idea how gutted I am about that. The website is due up tomorrow too at rogertaylorofficial.com - it was up briefly yesterday, with a track called "The Shores of Fromentera" in the background that was quite nice.

I'm with you - Roger has been my favorite since '78, and has always managed to make me feel better when I'm down. He has this wicked fun sense of humor and playfulness about him that I totally adore.

If I'm perfectly honest, I shouldn't have bought "Fun On Earth" myself, especially this close to Christmas, but I had one of those what the hell moments, which fortunately I can still have. You'll get is soon enough, I know you will. Some of the songs are bound to turn up on YouTube, so at least you should be able to hear the new stuff; although I appreciate that that isn't the same.

There's another recent interview here by the way, in case it's one you've not read.

I hadn't read it yet, that was fun! Thank you! I have the Mojo and the Classic Rock interviews in print. I'm sure he'll get some stick for his recording, I think he usually does, doesn't he? But those of us who love him will enjoy it, as we love our wild drummer boy!

The press always give him a hard time. I'm sure he's used to it, though it would be nice if he didn't have to be. Having said that, "Sunny Day" has been very well received so far. It's getting a bit of airplay on the radio, which is previously unheard of for a Roger solo track.

That's good to hear. I doubt it'll get airplay here in the States, but stranger things have happened!
