Let's dance...

Just because it makes me ridiculously happy, really. This is Cab Calloway and his jazz orchestra, featuring dancing from the Nicholas Brothers. Their dancing was renowned for its energy, and for moves that pretty much nobody else could contemplate performing. So watch and bounce. After all, it's not often that anybody manages to upstage Cab Calloway!

And don't try this at home, folks. At least not without giving your saxophone section some crash helmets...

They are actually dancing on quite a slippery floor if you look at their feet. That would be disaster for any other dancers.

Just how fit were they?

They had been dancing pretty much their whole lives. I guess that makes all the difference!

Can't help wondering how they discovered they could do some of those moves, though...

Wow!

I think you would have liked something I heard last night. The weekly public radio blues program gave us an hour of songs from the 1920s - 1940s by various Mississippi blues artists all on the same theme -- barbeque pork (with a side of pork chops). It was wonderful. As my husband said, "Somebody (at the station) must have been starving!"

Well I don't think much of the menu! ;) The music would probably have been good though.
