Foiled!

My attempt to mope repeatedly by posting a-ha videos seems to have been scuppered by most of them having embedding disabled. No fair! And some of those videos are damned pretty.

Still, there's always Top Of The Pops. Complete with irritating shrieks from the audience, and even more annoying voiceover from Steve Wright, but the music's still good...

a-ha - man, that takes me back. we didn't seem to hear much of them over here after their take on me/Bond movie period - what would you recommend?

Probably their recent singles collection. It's a double album called "25", and has about 39 of their most famous songs on it. The period you mention was all in the eighties, which was their bouncy, happy phase. Then they went all moody in the nineties, and then more grown-up and reflective in the last decade. "25" covers most of it, although inevitably it misses some bits out.
