The (Proper) A-Team

Been posting a fair bit about the new movie just lately, so I figured it was time to redress the balance. Here, then, is the proper A-Team, in all their eighties glory.

Not my favourite version of the credits, I have to say (this is, but they wouldn't let me embed that). *pout* Hannibal with a wrecking ball! Noisy Cylon! Faceman on the roof! But the embedded version is good too. Obviously.

I have such fond memories of this show - it was one of the only things I could watch with my father where we'd both enjoy ourselves. I've always liked George Peppard - he did some great movies even if all he's remembered for is this.

He was good, yes. I suppose the famous one is Breakfast At Tiffany's, but he did so much over the years. Tobruk with Rock Hudson really impressed me as a kid, though I've not seen it in forever. Probably the only real misfire of his that I've ever seen is Rough Night In Jericho, where he and Dean Martin seem to have got bored, and switched roles for a laugh. If they'd switched them back again it might have worked.

I really must look out Tobruk again.

There's one with him and Robert Mitchum I really liked. Home is the Hunter?

Home From The Hill? Another one that I've not seen in years. One of those sprawling Southern tales, directed by Vincente Minelli. If you like that, try Some Came Running.

It's a quotation from a Stevenson poem, anyway. I might not like it now - sometimes I don't even want to rewatch/reread something I liked when I was young, too many disappointments. When I was 13, I loved Heinlein, for example.

I sympathise (well - not about Heinlein. You're on your own there!). Robert Mitchum is usually good, though. In general you can't go far wrong with a film that has him in it.

Edited for stupid spelling.
